Bree & Alec: An Intimate Hayden Lake Ceremony

Being a wedding photographer in Idaho is always an adventure, and capturing Bree and Alec’s wedding on Hayden Lake was one of those days where we felt incredibly lucky to do what we do. From the moment we arrived at their small Airbnb tucked away on the lake’s edge, we knew this wedding was going to be something special.

Bree and Alec’s day was all about honoring their relationship in the most authentic way possible. They chose to keep their celebration intimate, surrounded only by their closest family and friends. The setting was absolutely breathtaking: a cozy spot right on Hayden Lake, with a bubbling stream running through the property. The combination of the epic lake views with the calm stream sounds really set the stage for one of the most beautiful ceremonies we have ever captured.

Bree was barefoot the entire day, which felt so fitting for her free-spirited nature. Watching her walk down the aisle with no shoes on, grinning from ear to ear, was such a beautiful vision. We spent some time taking photos on the dock, where the happy couple shared some quiet moments together. It was one of those beautiful, serene scenes that felt almost surreal.

We loved capturing the unique ways Bree and Alec chose to express themselves throughout the day. One of our favorite moments was when they shared a special handshake right before their first kiss. It was a small but powerful gesture, capturing the deep friendship and partnership at the heart of their relationship. The celebration continued with a delightful dinosaur-themed donut table—a quirky nod to their playful personalities. Every detail of the day was a reflection of who Bree and Alec are, making it a wedding that truly felt like them.

After the ceremony, they made their exit in true Bree and Alec style—with a bubble send-off as they drove away in their Tacoma. Something we both share a passion for (our Tacoma has been our favorite for adventures!). There was something so perfectly “them” about this moment. Their shared love for adventure, simple joys, and yes, Tacomas, was evident. It’s always a thrill to capture couples who share similar passions, and Bree and Alec’s love for their truck definitely made us kindred spirits!

Capturing these moments for Bree and Alec was an absolute joy.
